Dickie's faux history is exactly as if someone were to argue that Adolf Hitler was never really proven to be guilty of anything and the evil Allies hounded him with false charges into taking his own life in the Fuhrer Bunker.
Come to think of it, we would be astounded if Silverstein were NOT to argue that Adolf was an innocent victim of the imperialist Allies.
